I have problem with spamming in this bulleting board. Once a day there comes spam material postings.
What is the best method to fight against spam (in this) bulletin board ?

Is it possible to do one of the following two:
(i) have a CAPTCHA or something on signup, so bots cant sign themselves up? An easy one would be to answer a simple question about nomograms or something. There could always be an alternative route via email or something where you just explain why you need to be able to post but can't answer the captcha.
(ii) moderate first postings - that is, your first post to the board goes to an admin for approval, but once its approved, you can post freely (of course the admin can still boot you later if you misbehave).
I don't know what facilities you get with phpBB to start with, but I presume there's some way to keep the spambots at bay other than just dealing with them after the fact.

The spam registered users keep on coming. I sympathize with the administrator for having to deal with this problem.
The knowledge base webpage for phpBB (at http://www.phpbb.com/kb/) has a link titled "Preventing SPAM - Bots and Humans (Outside Link)" that provides different options to help prevent spam for phpBB.
I see that there is a new version of phpBB (version 3) that became available last December, and upgrading always to the latest version is the first recommendation on this anti-spam page. If this version is older, it might help to upgrade. Otherwise there are some links and MODs on the anti-spam page that might help, and the knowledge base webpage above also has a link to an article on how to install MODs.

Looks like the account bruce741 is a spammer.
His post here: viewtopic.php?t=28#p284
just repeats some of a previous post (so if you're not paying close attention, it *looks* legitimate) and then links to a commercial site (to do with leather jackets) in the signature
So the post contains no actual information and the signature is spam
